How is it maintained?
AssociationIntel staff conduct regular research and verify association and staff details for all organizations in the database. New additions, CEO and senior staff updates, recruiting information and organizational changes, such as relocations and mergers, are updated daily. Financial information, including income, major expenditures and executive salary details, is updated monthly.
What organizations are covered?
AssociationIntel includes information on more than 2,500 trade associations, professional societies and charitable organizations with annual revenue of at least $2 million.
What salaries do you have?
- Salary information is derived from tax documents, which organizations are required to file annually with the IRS. The CEO salary is always recorded on these forms, but senior staff and other officers’ salaries are not consistently reported by organizations. We include the top four salaries, if available.
- Note: Tax exempt organizations with the 501(c)(3) designation, typically charitable organizations, are required to list the top five paid staff members in the organization. Organizations formed to represent business interests, or 501(c)(6) organizations, are only required to list the salaries of “Directors, Trustees, and Key Employees”.
- “Key Employee” always means the chief staff officer, but reporting additional salaries in the IRS Form 990 depends on the organization’s structure
- IRS Definition: Key employee. A key employee is any person having responsibilities, powers, or influence similar to those of officers, directors, or trustees. The term includes the chief management and administrative officials of an organization (such as an executive director or chancellor). A chief financial officer and the officer in charge of the administration or program operations are both key employees if they have the authority to control the organization's activities, its finances, or both
What staff listings do you have?
Staff listings with salary information vary based on organizational structure and IRS requirements. 501(c)(3) organizations typically include the top five paid staff members, including the CEO. 501(c)(6) organizations typically include between one and four of the most senior staff members.
Do you have the contact information on the CEO or staff?
Contact information for each organization’s headquarters office as well as other significant offices (government relations office, administrative office, etc.) is always listed. A staff directory, including direct dial telephone numbers and e-mail addresses, is included when available. CEO telephone number and e-mail address is included when available.
