Red Cavaney, head of the $146 million revenue American Petroleum Institute, will retire on Nov. 1. Jack Gerard, president and CEO of the American Chemistry Council, will take over the helm.

Barbara Tulipane, president and CEO of the Electronic Retailing Association, announced that she would join the National Recreation and Park Association, replacing John Thorner, who joined the American Society of Anesthesiologists as executive vice president. 

John Scholl was named president of the American Farmland Trust, succeeding Ralph Grossi, who served the $10 million revenue, Washington, D.C.-based group for 23 years.
